Job Description: We are working with a well-established, RCVS-accredited hospital and emergency clinic seeking a Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon to join their busy and supportive day team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large, collaborative team of 70 colleagues, including 15 vets, 21 RVNs, 9 SVNs, 6 VCAs, and a strong administrative and management function.
The Role
24 hours per week
Salary: Up to £36,000 per annum (£60,000 FTE), dependent on experience
Fixed shift pattern:
Wednesday: 9:00am – 6:00pm (consults; 30-minute sick pet appointments as standard)
Thursday: 9:00am – 8:00pm (consults; 30-minute sick pet appointments as standard)
1 in 4 weekends*:
Shift options: 7:30am – 6:00pm, 9:30am – 8:00pm, or 10:00am – 8:30pm
Weekend Work
Weekend shifts focus on ECC and pre-booked emergency consults only.
You will work alongside a full and well-supported clinical team, typically including three vets per shift, managing:
Hospital inpatients
Emergency on-the-day consultations
ECC procedures and surgery
Teams are carefully structured to ensure a balanced mix of skills across medicine, consulting, and surgery.
Clinical Development Opportunities
We are particularly interested in candidates with a passion or experience in:
Ophthalmology
Dermatology
Feline medicine
There is excellent scope to develop your own referral clinics, supported by strong internal referral potential from 19 feeder practices connected to the hospital’s OOH and referral services.
